I facilitate learning in the program by challenging students to draw upon their conceptual learning in content areas--English language arts and reading, mathematics, science, and social studies-- to create meaningful connections. Through these connections students are encouraged to view the world in a more global manner. In the program, I inspire students to make connections between their learning and the real world, while providing guided freedom to pursue individual areas of interest. Students are provided opportunities to take responsibility for their own learning and to develop an understanding of global challenges and the impact on the world around them.
This video is specifically for adults who often share time with our students. A vital component to education is social-emotional development--ultimately S-E growth, and in the GT program, that is a key focus.
