Dear Parent or Guardian:
The Sinton ISD Board of Trustees reviews the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program on an annual basis. On April 28, 2025, the Board of Trustees approved the Sinton ISD Food Service Department to operate the Community Eligibility Provision program for the 2024-2025 school year. This decision is a one-
year commitment for SY 25-26 only and comes at an estimated cost of $86,805.41 to the District.
Therefore, we are pleased to inform you that for the 2025-2026 school year, free breakfast and free lunch will be provided for all Sinton ISD students.
Welder Elementary, Sinton Elementary, Smith Middle School and Sinton High School will be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs for School Year 2025-2026. Schools qualifying to operate CEP serve breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
Please keep in mind that some or all Sinton ISD campuses may return to completing school meal applications and paying for school meals in the 2026-2027 school year. The projected meal price for school year 2026-2027 is $3.00 for a paid student breakfast and $4.10 for a paid student lunch.
For additional information, please contact the Food Service Department, 361-364-6816.
Sincerely,
Silke West
Sinton ISD Food Service Director
