Second Grade STEM Design Challenge

Welder second grade students were challenged to combine a variety of materials to design and create the tallest structure possible. Then they were challenged to combine materials to build their own bridge. Students collaborated with a friend or friends to complete the challenges. After completing each design they had to justify the selection of materials used based on their physical properties. The structures our students made were very impressive.
