Drop Off & Pick Up

The staff at SMS is looking forward to meeting all of your students On Wednesday, August 14! It's going to be another GREAT YEAR!!!
The school doors will open at 7:15 for morning drop off. Please enter the parking lot using the one-way drive and drop your student off along the front of the campus. Students will enter at the activity entrance (by the cafeteria/gyms). The back entry and parking area (near the weight room) is for dropping off and picking up 7th and 8th grade student athletes.
All students will enter the building and head to the cafeteria for gathering and breakfast. Class starts at 7:55 and the tardy bell will ring at 8:00.
The activity entrance doors will be monitored and will close at 7:55. If you arrive to drop your student after 7:55, please park and check your student into the main office.
Students will be dismissed at 3:45. SMS staff will assist car riders with quickly finding and loading into cars. Please be patient as we measure the time it will take to get students dismissed and safely into vehicles for the first few days of school. Walkers will exit SMS and will cross (if needed) at the crosswalk (near Lamar campus/Discovery Center).
For safety reasons, if you plan to pick up your student after school, please use the car rider line. Students will not be permitted to cross the car rider line to get to any vehicle parked in the parking lot.
When dropping off in the morning and picking up in the afternoon, please pull forward so we can keep as many cars off the highway as possible.
